Born in the vibrant streets of New York City, Michael Powers found his true rhythm in the electric vibe of the San Francisco Bay area. After graduating from Berkeley High School, he moved to Seattle, where he attended the Cornish College of the Arts, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Composition and Performance in 1982.
Michael’s musical palette expanded, drawing inspiration from legends like Jimi Hendrix, Miles Davis, and George Benson. His style defies categorization but finds its roots in jazz, blending seamlessly with pop, R&B, and blues elements.
Michael has graced stages alongside icons like Herbie Hancock, Ray Charles, and Nancy Wilson throughout his illustrious career, leaving audiences spellbound with his powerful performances. Today, his music transcends boundaries, evoking raw emotions and earning him countless standing ovations.
