Destination Roadhouse “Music Around the World” with Mambo Cadillac

Mambo Cadillac was founded in 2005 by percussionist/conga player Tor Dietrichson alongside virtuoso Mexican pianist Julio Jauregui and the wonderful Costa Rican vocalist Carlos Cascante. Both of them had been urging Tor, a veteran of the World Music scene, to start a band with them. Since then the band has gone on to perform at least a thousand times all around the Pacific Northwest. First call electric bassist Dean Schmidt has been in the group since its inception and later on drummer Jeff Busch was added to the band. The band has at times added horns, guitar and/or additional percussion but these members are the core of the group. Carlos has gone on to garner three Grammy Awards from his work with Spanish Harlem Orchestra and elsewhere. The band always thrills the audience that hears them every time.
The band performs their own inimitable blend of Afro Cuban influenced Salsa and Latin Jazz in such styles as Mambo, Son Montuno, Rumba Guaguanco, Cha Cha Cha, Guajira, Timba and other styles. Be prepared to dance, dance, dance!!
